Questions
- What is the difference between an ITP and an ITR?
- An ITP is the plan: what will be inspected, by whom, and where the hold points sit. An ITR is the record: the readings actually taken, the tolerances they were judged against, and the signatures. The ITP is written before the work, the ITR is filled in during it and handed over as evidence afterwards.
- Why do you not print clause numbers?
- Because we would sometimes get them wrong, and this document goes to people who own the standard. We name the standard and leave the clause for you to add from your own copy. A record with an invented citation is worse than one with none.
- Can I use this on a real job?
- It is a starting point, not a controlled document. Check every tolerance against your copy of the standard and the project specification first. Most people use it as the structure and replace the limits with the ones from their spec.
- Does it handle measurement tables?
- Yes. Where a reading repeats, pressure held over time, several weld numbers, survey points across a bay, it builds the grid with the right rows and columns so you can write the readings straight in.
